Allergies & Special Diets

M Food Co. makes every effort to ensure that there are food options available to meet as many dietary requirements as possible. Learn more about our Health and Wellness options on this page.

Policies

All meal plans purchased for use at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities campus are for the personal use of the owner of the account or plan only and are non-transferable. University of Minnesota Dining Services funds and plans cannot be used as a gift card or gift certificate. With the exception of guest meals, meals can only be used by the account holder.

Except as otherwise expressly stated in these terms, all University of Minnesota Dining Services funds and plans are non-refundable and will expire on the last day of the current semester or at the earlier of the last day of enrollment or employment, as applicable.

Each student is issued a photographic identification card (U Card), which must be presented in order to obtain access to the dining services. Students who lose their identification card must go to the U Card Office for a replacement and pay the applicable replacement fee. Meals will not be provided without a valid U Card.

University email is the official contact method regarding your meal plan; all business must be conducted from an @umn.edu email address. We encourage you to check your email regularly for updates or notices related to your meal plan.

Meal Plan Hall Access

All meal plan holders will automatically gain access to buildings with residential dining halls*. This access can take up to 4 business days. If you find you are unable to access dining halls after this time, send an email to [email protected].

*Comstock Hall is accessible to only residents of Comstock and Yudof Halls, not all meal plan holders.

Dining Dollars

Dining Dollars are non-transferable.

Unused Dining Dollars

Unused Dining Dollars carry over through semesters in the same academic year until the balance has been used. Each May (specific dates below), any funds remaining in individual Dining Dollars accounts will be removed and transferred to the U of M.

Conferences & Events

Dining Dollars purchased or given as a part of an on-campus conference or event expire at the end of the event for which they were issued.
