Along with access to the residential restaurants, each meal plan comes with Dining Dollars that can be used at any on-campus M Food Co. location, including Starbucks, Panda Express, Chick-fil-A, Subway, Erbert & Gerbert’s, Caribou Coffee, and more. These funds are conveniently loaded on your U Card.

Dining Dollars make your U Card work like a declining balance card. When purchasing food, present your U Card to the cashier and let them know you want to use Dining Dollars. They will swipe your card and deduct your purchase from your Dining Dollars account balance. M Food Co. also accepts Gopher GOLDDining Dollars are non-transferable.

Duluth students: Dining Dollars from Twin Cities and Duluth are separate accounts and do not transfer between campuses.


Dining Dollar plans are à la carte and may be added at any time via the Dine on Campus website


Dining Dollars expire annually at the end of the spring semester. Dining Dollars for the 2022-2023 academic year will rollover as a one-time exception to the 2023-2024 academic year. All Dining Dollars for the 2023-2024 academic year will expire on May 11, 2024.

Conferences & Events

Dining Dollars purchased or given as a part of an on-campus conference or event expire at the end of the event for which they were issued.
