What is the date range for Ramadan?

Ramadan begins the evening of Sunday, March 10, and ends at sundown on Tuesday, April 9. We will have special items beginning on this date, and we will extend our dining hall offerings until Wednesday, April 10.

What dining halls will feature Ramadan items, and where can I get them?

M Food Co. To-Go Program Expansion

In addition to our existing M Food Co. To-Go program, we will have single-use to-go containers available upon request at all dining halls during dinner service. This will provide more flexibility for students to enjoy their meals at their convenience.

Breakfast Items During Dinner Service

Recognizing the importance of a substantial pre-dawn meal, we are expanding our breakfast offerings during dinner service. This adjustment aims to ensure that students have access to a variety of nutritious options to take with them for consumption during the pre-dawn hours.

Halal Callouts on Menu Identifiers

To simplify the dining experience, all applicable menu items prepared in accordance with Halal dietary guidelines will be clearly labeled with Halal callouts. This will make it easier for students to identify suitable options.

Extended Halal Station Hours

Pioneer Dining Hall will extend the hours of our Halal station until 10 pm. This extension provides students with more opportunities to enjoy Halal meals during the evening.

Late Night Market Meals with Halal Options

Our Late Night Market Meals will include a dedicated Halal option. This ensures that students observing Ramadan have access to a suitable meal even during late-night dining hours. Late Night Market Meals are available at Centennial, Middlebrook, and Sanford Markets.

Is there a to-go option available for those who are observing fasting?

In addition to our existing M Food Co. To-Go program, we will have single-use to-go containers available upon request at all dining halls during dinner service. This will provide more flexibility for students to enjoy their meals at their convenience.

What is the date range for Passover?

Passover begins on the evening of Wednesday, April 5th, and ends at sunset on Thursday April 13th.

What offerings are available during Passover?

Matzo ball soup and matzo crackers will be available during each meal period. This will be available at all dining halls. In addition, we will offer packaged kosher meals by request - also at any dining hall – during this time period. Students will also have access to the other dining options without needing to use an additional swipe.

Will there be additional options available outside the halls?

Yes! There will be options for Passover available in the three residential markets during this date range: Middlebrook, Sanford, and Centennial.

These enhancements are part of our ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive campus environment for all students. We value your feedback, and if you have any specific requests or suggestions, please feel free to contact M Food Co. at [email protected].
