M Food Co. is working with Starship Technologies to offer a futuristic delivery service on campus. Now, you can have your food delivered to over 40 campus buildings on the East Bank and West Bank—all by a robot!
Starship is currently delivering from the following locations: Panda Express, Starbucks, Erbert & Gerbert’s, Einstein Bros. Bagels, and City Mac (Global Kitchen). We will add more locations soon!

The robots provide a safe, fast, affordable and environmentally friendly delivery. Your Dining Dollars and Gopher GOLD can be synced to Starship’s app, so you can order from your favorite campus restaurants for a small delivery fee.

Where do the robots deliver?
The robots deliver to locations on the East Bank and West Bank of campus. Check the app to ensure you are in the delivery area.
How do robots know where they’re going?
Most of the time the robots drive autonomously, using a mixture of computer vision and GPS to pinpoint their exact location to the nearest inch.
Are the robots being monitored while they travel?
Yes, the robots are monitored remotely by a human who can take control at any time, if needed.
How does the robot not hit things?
The robot has obstacle detection. Twelve cameras, ultrasonic sensors, radars, neural networks and more to detect obstacles, whether that’s a dog, a pedestrian, or a cyclist.
How fast does it go?
The robot travels safely at approximately 4 mph.
Does it travel on roads or sidewalks?
The robots are designed to act like a pedestrian, so mainly sidewalks, but they cross roads too.
How can I be sure no one steals or tampers with my order?
The robots have many theft prevention measures. These include tampering sirens, tracking to the nearest inch, securely locked lids, and cameras that can record what is happening around the robots.
How much does a delivery cost?
The delivery price can change, but it’s normally a few dollars.
Are they environmentally friendly?
Starship’s robots are safe, green, and 100% electric.
